「Okuizome-zen」

”Okuizome” is a traditional Japanese ceremony that takes place 100-120 days after the birth of a baby, when families celebrate to wish the baby a life of abundant food without hunger. Though in actuality the baby does not eat the food, the celebration is symbolically the "first meal" of the baby, and food is presented with the order of “rice, soup, rice, fish, rice” and repeated three times. In addition, "hagatame" is also carried out in the hope that the baby will grow strong, healthy teeth. We hope you can enjoy this celebratory ceremony at home with your family.
